Each year since 1956 the Neshaminy Valley Music Theatre has produced a full Broadway-type musical stage show. The proceeds of the production contribute to a scholarship fund which is awarded to graduating seniors of the Neshaminy School District who plan to continue their studies in the fine or performing arts. Since its founding, NVMT has awarded over $115,000 in scholarship grants to deserving students.

We are very pleased and proud to announce the recipients of our 2009 scholarship grants.

EVELYN McLEAN MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP

Jessica Lieb is the winner of the scholarship named for the founder of NVMT. Jessica will be studying at Millersville University where she will major in music education. She hopes someday to be a choral director and to direct musicals. One of Jessica’s goals is to start a community theatre where children can take acting, vocal and dance lessons.

JOSEPH J. McGLADE MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP

Daniel Feldman won the 2009 Joseph J. McGlade Scholarship. Daniel will attend West Chester University in the fall where he will major in music education. He plans to pursue a vocation in the area of vocal studies working in a school, a studio or in private practice.

NVMT SCHOLARSHIP

Elizabeth Calabro will attend Ithica College where she will study vocal performance and opera. Her goal is to have a professional singing career in opera. Elizabeth’s passion and dream of singing opera were inspired at age five when she heard Pavarotti sing as part of The Three Tenors.

NVMT SCHOLARSHIP

Jessica Moutoux is looking forward to studying at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Her field of study will be musical performance. Her goal is to become a professional musician and her hope is to be able to enrich the lives of others through her music.

NVMT SCHOLARSHIP

Jacqueline Wiatrowski will be majoring in musical theatre while she attends Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. She plans to be a professional performer on Broadway, in motion pictures and perhaps even as a recording artist. Eventually, Jacqueline hopes to open her own performing arts studio while continuing to perform.

NVMT SCHOLARSHIP

Rebecca Zaritsky will attend Temple University in Philadelphia majoring in theater. Becki’s love of theater has encouraged her hopes to perform before an audience, support the production through backstage work and/or move on to directing shows.
